Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Independently conducts a wide range of neuropsychological services that include, but is not limited to, assessment of cognitive, emotional, psychological, and behavioral functional concerns.
- Works in consultation with interdisciplinary team members to facilitate accurate diagnosis, patient education, and treatment planning. Consults with patient care teams to develop tailored treatment plans that meet the specific needs of the patient.
- Provides screening for cognitive deficits to address specific functional questions or to determine whether a complete neuropsychological evaluation is needed and/or makes referrals to appropriate services to meet the medical needs of the patient.
- Performs assessments to support decision-making when there are questions about a patient's ability to make medical decisions, perform other specific functions or live independently, and provide recommendations to clinical interdisciplinary teams.
- Provides clinical neuropsychological supervision of psychology interns, practicum students and residents in psychiatry.
- Provides neurocognitive didactics for psychology interns and practicum students, psychiatry residents, faculty, and other medical professionals.
- Consults with physicians and staff on a wide variety of patient care issues.
- Develops individualized care plans as necessary and appropriate.
- Monitors patients progress and adjusts treatment plan as appropriate when requested by care team.
- Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring that services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
- Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores. Demonstrates patient centered and patient valued behavior.
- Maintains a collaborative environment with other referring physicians, residents, clinical staff, and support staff to provide quality patient care.
- Supports academic, educational, and research endeavors.
- Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings; and is an active participant in this process when requested.
- Partners and communicates with the neuropsychological service to build a positive brand and a positive patient/customer experience for those who encounter Acclaim/JPS Health Network, including health network staff, vendors, outside partners, patients, stakeholders, and local community leaders.

- PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology
- Documentation of successful completion of a 2-year neuropsychology postdoctoral / fellowship program.
- Education Requirement o Doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) at the time the program was completed OR, a doctoral degree
- Internship Requirement: o Successful completion of a clinical or counseling psychology internship training program that was accredited by APA or APPIC at the time of completion.
- Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training: o Candidates must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in the State of Texas or be eligible for Texas Board licensure as outlined by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council.
