As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments Technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, development, and maintenance of modular Android frameworks with a focus on security, scalability, and performance.
- Design and implement secure authentication flows including OAuth2/OIDC, biometrics, and device attestation.
- Ensure platform integrity through root detection and runtime protection measures.
- Develop clear, developer-friendly SDK APIs with comprehensive documentation and example projects.
- Adopt and implement latest Android technologies such as Kotlin Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, and Android Jetpack libraries.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align SDK interfaces and security protocols.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Write robust unit and integration tests and contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to SDKs and mobile security.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on Android software engineering concepts and 7 years applied experience.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and experience with Android SDK and Jetpack Compose.
- Deep understanding of mobile security concepts including OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), PKCE, biometrics (Fingerprint/Face recognition), and secure storage (Android Keystore).
- Proven experience building and maintaining Android SDKs or reusable frameworks.
- Familiarity with Android’s security APIs such as SafetyNet and Play Integrity.
- Strong knowledge of modern concurrency patterns in Kotlin (Coroutines).
- Experience with API design, versioning, and backward compatibility.
- Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM) or other cross-platform shared business logic frameworks.
- Contributions to open-source Android SDKs or internal platform libraries.
- Familiarity with mobile telemetry, crash reporting, and analytics tools.
- Background in cryptography or secure protocol implementation.
- Experience with advanced Android build systems, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
