JPMorganChase is seeking an Investment Research Analyst within the Security & Resiliency Initiative (SRI) $10bn Strategic Investment Group. This Analyst will play a critical role in making investments across multiple verticals, including Defense, Future Technology, Supply Chain, Healthcare and Energy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead Investment Research Initiatives: Proactively identify, source, and engage with industry experts, company executives, and other key stakeholders to support investment due diligence and generate differentiated investment insights.
- Conduct Market and Competitive Analysis: Independently perform in-depth research on companies, industries, and market trends, synthesizing findings into actionable intelligence to inform investment decisions.
- Financial Modeling and Valuation: Build and maintain detailed financial models, perform valuation analyses, and integrate quantitative findings with field research to support investment recommendations.
- Due Diligence Execution: Manage and conduct expert calls and interviews, often independently, to validate investment theses and uncover risks or opportunities.
- Maintain Research Integrity: Ensure all research activities adhere to the highest standards of independence, rigor, and ethical conduct, minimizing reliance on Wall Street research and external expert networks.
- Insight Communication and Reporting: Quickly distill and circulate key findings from expert conversations in real time to support early-stage decision-making, and synthesize comprehensive reports for advanced opportunities as needed.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- Experience: 7 years of direct investing experience with a demonstrated track record of sourcing and synthesizing expert insights to support investment decisions.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to conduct high-level interviews and distill complex information into actionable investment recommendations.
- Independence: Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, manage multiple research projects simultaneously, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with proven ability to break down businesses to their core underlying economics.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Integrity and Discretion: High ethical standards and discretion in handling confidential information.
