Job Summary
Lead the ANZ (Australia-focused) tax product for JPMorganChase Custody & Fund Services. Own local tax product strategy, governance, and delivery roadmap for Fund Services clients (asset managers, asset owners, superannuation funds, and managed investment trusts). Partner with Operations, Technology, Client Service, Sales, Relationship Management, Risk/Compliance, and Legal to deliver scalable, high-quality tax services, respond to regulatory change, and support business growth. Collaborate with adjacent product teams (e.g., Fund Accounting and Private Fund Services) to deliver a seamless client experience.
Job Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Strategy
- Define and drive ANZ tax product strategy and multi-year roadmap aligned to regional/global priorities.
- Maintain product scope, operating model, service standards, and value proposition for Australian fund services tax offerings.
- Ensure services meet quality, control, and Australian Taxation Office requirements, supported by a robust tax risk and controls framework.
- Maintain and update tax product policies in line with enhancements, regulatory change, and governance.
Governance, Risk & Controls
- Lead local product governance, including service change governance, approvals, and oversight against service standards.
- Evolve policies, procedures, and controls based on regulatory change, audit outcomes, and governance requirements.
- Partner with Risk/Compliance/Legal to ensure the operating model is control-aligned, documented, and resilient, including issue management and remediation.
Regulatory Change & Product Development
- Monitor and assess regulatory developments, industry practices, and client needs impacting Australian fund services tax (including superannuation and MIT/AMIT reporting).
- Translate requirements into clear product specifications, prioritize initiatives, and drive end-to-end delivery with Product Development, Operations, and Technology.
- Ensure disciplined execution (business cases, requirements, testing/UAT, operational readiness, training, post-implementation review).
Client & Commercial Outcomes
- Support Sales and Relationship Management with RFPs, pitches, due diligence, and solutioning; clearly articulate capabilities and operating model.
- Own/partner on pricing, cost-to-serve, and deal profitability for tax components; recommend pricing strategy and commercial enhancements.
- Use product and operational metrics to improve service quality, timeliness, accuracy, issue reduction, and retention.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills
- Minimum 10 years in custody/fund services, with significant Australian fund services tax experience.
- Minimum 5 years in product management and/or client-facing roles (product, solutions, implementation, relationship/support).
- Demonstrated delivery of tax requirements for superannuation funds and managed investment trusts within product/ops/tech operating models.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian fund services landscape and institutional client needs.
- Proven ability to prioritize and deliver in a changing environment across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and senior communication skills across Operations, Technology, Risk/Compliance, Legal, and Client teams.
- Comfortable in complex tech/ops environments (requirements, data/process flows, controls) with a pragmatic delivery mindset.
