Job summary
As a Vice President in Deal Set Up and Funding, you serve as a senior individual contributor and team leader supporting the syndicated loan deal closing process. You act as a key point of contact for complex transactions, drive operational excellence, and provide guidance to peers to help deliver an excellent client experience. You help maintain accurate, well-controlled execution aligned to the team’s strategic objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert for Deal Set Up and Funding, providing guidance on complex syndicated loan transactions
- Lead coordination across teams to interpret and process loan documentation for new deals and amendments accurately
- Oversee closing-related fees and principal payments to support timely and accurate execution
- Actively manage and prioritize a pipeline of assigned transactions, escalating risks and issues when appropriate
- Review, govern, and reconcile exception reports for recently closed transactions to identify discrepancies and drive resolution
- Identify and drive process improvements to strengthen quality, efficiency, and control discipline
- Provide training, mentorship, and required approvals to support team performance and development
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with front office, legal, transaction coordinators, and account servicing teams
- Communicate status, risks, and deliverables clearly to stakeholders to support end-to-end execution
- Support a strong control environment through adherence to procedures, documentation standards, and audit readiness
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Commercial banking experience
- Minimum of 3 years of syndicated loan experience
- Minimum of 3 years of Loan IQ experience
- Strong understanding of syndicated loan closing and funding processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex transactions concurrently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence across levels
- Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and ability to resolve exceptions with urgency
- Ability to lead through collaboration and partner effectively across teams
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field
- Prior leadership role preferred
- Strong understanding of finance and loan products, with depth in syndicated loans
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated client service mindset
