The Venture Capital Relationship Team sits within the Innovation Economy group and serves as a cornerstone of J.P. Morgan’s commitment to the global innovation ecosystem. The team is responsible for building deep, multi-layered relationships with leading venture capital firms and their partners by helping position J.P. Morgan for everything from seed-stage banking to venture debt for growing companies to exits for late-stage companies.
As a Senior Associate on the Commercial Bank’s Innovation Economy Business Management team, you will play a key role in a high-growth segment, focusing on data-driven execution and project management for initiatives critical to the Venture Capital Relationship Team’s success. Job responsibilities
Execute and support strategic initiatives for the Venture Capital Relationship Team through active coordination with Industry Managers and Relationship Bankers.
Prepare business insights through data-driven analysis of Venture Capital firms, deal activity, and portfolio health to help optimize the Venture Capital Relationship Team’s growth objectives.
Maintain and communicate key business metrics (financial and non-financial) to support the Venture Capital Relationship Team’s leadership in data-driven decision-making.
Support executive requests by delivering high-quality presentation materials, business reporting, and program management updates.
Coordinate with internal partners across the Commercial Bank to streamline processes for the Venture Capital Relationship sales organization.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
5 years of experience in business management, management consulting, financial analysis, or a similar corporate strategy role.
Strong quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and provide actionable tactical insights.
High proficiency in digital tools, specifically MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint), and familiarity with analytics platforms like Alteryx and visualization tools such as Qlik or Tableau.
Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to create clear, concise reporting and executive-level presentations.
Intellectual curiosity regarding the venture capital and startup ecosystem.
Proven organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
Prior experience or strong interest in the Innovation Economy, including knowledge of venture capital fund structures and startup lifecycle metrics.
Experience in Commercial Banking or related financial services sectors.
Experience assisting in the development of data infrastructure or automated reporting solutions.
