As a Senior Associate Equities Product Controller within the financial controllers and trading desks team, you will ensure the accuracy of Profit & Loss (P&L), balance sheet, and month-end close procedures. You will have the opportunity to promote and implement robust controls and new business initiatives, coordinate across various front & back office support functions, and serve as an analytical and project support resource. Job responsibilities
- Responsible for the global coordination and production of the P&L and Risk Scorecard for the Global EDG business, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in data submission. This comprehensive pack is reviewed by senior management on a monthly basis to evaluate the effectiveness of all controls and ensure they are being executed as required.
- Collaborate with controllers across regions to ensure submissions are accurate and compliant with the P&L and Risk minimum standards. Where necessary, facilitate amendments to submissions to meet these requirements in a timely manner.
- Produce, validate, and report T 1 P&L and Risk figures and assist with the month-end close process.
- Substantiate and report daily P&L attributes, including but not limited to Delta, Gamma, and Vega.
- Drive coordination across various front and back office support functions to ensure the resolution of control and reporting issues in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide T 1 P&L commentary that explains significant drivers of P&L, including market context where necessary.
- Handle various ad-hoc requests on a daily basis.
- Obtain daily P&L and Risk sign-off from the Front Office to ensure compliance with PC P&L and Risk minimum standards.
- Develop, update, and enhance automated process solutions for improved controls and efficiency.
- Serve as an analytical and project support resource for NA Equities product control.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 4 years within Product Control, Financial Control, Accounting, or related area
- Experience doing P&L and month end close process
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area
- Solid understanding of financial products
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Alteryx
