The Infatuation's social media team is growing, and we're looking for our next team member to join in the New York City or Los Angeles area. You'll be perfect for this role if you are highly skilled at creating social video content, and are passionate about dining out and discovering new restaurants. Note, this is an ongoing post for future openings so there may be a delay in response.
As a Social Media Manager in The Infatuation (CDJ), you will enact social strategy while working closely with editorial staff, creating assets that serve as extension of their voice on social. Beyond the day-to-day operations of social accounts, you will collaborate with the creative team and Social Media Managers in other cities to create new content franchises, company-wide social initiatives, special projects, and whatever big creative ideas you may bring to the table. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of Social Strategy. We are looking for candidates based in New York City and Los Angeles, who are comfortable traveling around the city to capture content.
Job Responsibilities
- Create social-first content to share to TikTok and Instagram
- Monitor and reply to comments and messages on all platforms
- Develop a plan for the best way to translate website content into effective social media content, and subsequently create weekly content calendars
- Capture video and photo content from restaurants, both independently and in partnership with local photographers
- Pull social performance insights to analyze as a team
- Work with VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to set and track goals to ensure our social media presence is a reflection of our values
- Contribute content ideas that can be developed into social content for a national audience and shared with other cities
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 3 years of professional experience in the content creation, social media, or brand marketing space
- Experience creating content natively in Instagram and TikTok, even if only on personal social media accounts
- Able to write copy and create content in The Infatuation's voice and from our brand's point of view
- Must know how to capture high quality food photos/videos using a smartphone
- Highly engaged with many social media platforms and entrenched in trends - i.e. memes, the Twitter main character of the day, app updates, new platform features, etc.
- Comfortable on camera and enthusiastic about being a face of the brand, with your own unique personality and sense of humor
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Have a deep sense of local culture, history, and communities. Be familiar with the restaurant scene and enthusiastic about celebrating diversity of cuisines within it
- Openness and willingness to try a wide variety of menu items and cuisines
- Experience with social media planning and scheduling platforms such as Later, Sprinklr, or Echobox
- Experience with photo and video editing software a plus, such as Splice or Canva
