Position Overview
JStart staff are at the heart of our school day, helping to create a warm, joyful, and nurturing environment where young children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn. Throughout the day, staff guide children through routines, play, learning experiences, and social interactions, helping each child grow with confidence and curiosity. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with young children, values community, and brings patience, energy, and care to their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children throughout the school day, including arrival, classroom activities, transitions, and dismissal
- Create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment
- Assist with or lead play-based learning experiences, centers, and enrichment activities
- Foster positive social interactions and model kindness, respect, and cooperation
- Help children build independence with routines such as snack, toileting, and clean-up
- Maintain a safe and attentive classroom environment at all times
- Communicate effectively with lead teachers, supervisors, and team members
- Follow all JStart policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children preferred
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual
- Warm, patient, and nurturing
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Background check required

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
