We are seeking a highly qualified Construction Quality Manager (CQM) to join our team on a major design-build project. This role is dedicated exclusively to overseeing and managing construction quality assurance and control. The CQM will have no direct responsibility for performing construction activities and will report directly to the Quality Manager (QM).
Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, and adjust construction processes to ensure compliance with the Quality Management Plan (QMP).
- Coordinate with the Quality Manager and Design Quality Manager to ensure all QMP requirements are met during construction activities.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and reviews of construction work to verify compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Identify and track non-conformances, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide oversight and guidance to field teams on quality policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain thorough documentation and prepare quality reports for internal and client review.
- Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters on construction activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Valid New York State Professional Engineer (P.E.) License (required).
- Minimum [10] years of demonstrated quality management experience in construction (Transit projects preferred).
- Strong knowledge of construction codes, standards, and quality management systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
