JP Technical Services supports mining, construction, and industrial operations with mechanical repair, welding, heavy haul, and parts services. We’re known for fast response, quality work, and keeping equipment and trucks moving with minimal downtime.
We are looking to add an experienced Truck Mechanic / Shop Mechanic to our team at the 22 Mine shop in Delbarton, West Virginia.
Position Overview
This is a shop-based mechanic role focused on maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing trucks and support vehicles used in mining, construction, and industrial operations. The ideal candidate has strong diesel and mechanical troubleshooting skills, takes pride in clean work, and can work independently in a busy shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair diesel trucks, service trucks, pickups, trailers, and support vehicles
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and DOT-related repairs
Troubleshoot diesel engines, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical systems, and hydraulics
Complete component replacements and general mechanical repairs
Maintain accurate service records and communicate repair needs clearly
Keep the shop, tools, and work areas organized and safe
Assist with parts, equipment, and truck readiness as needed
Follow all company and mine-site safety procedures
Qualifications
3 years of diesel truck or heavy equipment mechanic experience preferred
Strong diesel, electrical, brake, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
Experience working on service trucks, medium-duty trucks, heavy-duty trucks, or mining support vehicles preferred
Ability to work independently and solve problems
Valid driver’s license required
Clean driving record preferred
CDL is a plus
MSHA certification is a plus or ability to obtain
Must be reliable, safety-minded, and able to show up ready to work
