Mechanic

JP Services is looking for a Mechanic to join the team. As a Mechanic, you will perform maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of construction equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment and troubleshooting.

Mechanic Essential & Non-Essential Job Responsibilities

• Work out of the shop on equipment repairs and maintenance
• Conduct equipment functionality, use, and safety tests
• Travel to customer job sites to perform mechanic duties as needed
• Daily utilization of computer applications and programs for service documentation
• Accurately order needed parts from vendors
  
  

Mechanic Required Competencies - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Highly developed mechanical background with various construction equipment, including aerial and dirt equipment
• Advanced understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams
• Extensive experience working on hydraulics, electrical systems, and diesel engines
• Experience with air cooled, or smaller engines
• Experience with centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Have the drive to do whatever is needed to get the job done
• Exhibit strong teamwork and being a part of a greater goal
• Ability to give and take feedback or critique
  
  

Mechanic Experience Requirements

• Experience as a technician, repairing and maintaining heavy duty machinery, preferably construction equipment
• Own tools required to perform job
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  
  

Mechanic Working Condition/Physical Requirements

• Work environment is consistent with that of construction equipment yard and repair shop, and occasional travel to job sites
• Safety training and PPE is required
• Occasional lifting up to 100 lbs
• Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping
