JP HVAC is a family-owned and operated HVAC company serving Southern New Hampshire. We're growing, and we're looking for an experienced Lead HVAC Installer who wants to be part of a company that takes the trade seriously.

We're not interested in rushing through installations just to get to the next job. We want our systems to look good, operate correctly, and be installed in a way that the next technician who opens the equipment can immediately tell someone cared about their work.

If you take pride in straight pipework, clean wiring, organized mechanical rooms, properly commissioned equipment, and leaving a job better than you found it, you'll fit in well here.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a true lead installer position. You'll be expected to take ownership of installations from the beginning of the job through final start-up.

Your work will include:

• Gas furnaces and central air conditioning systems
• Heat pumps and air handlers
• Cold-climate heat pump systems
• Single-zone and multi-zone mini-splits
• Wall-mounted, floor-mounted, ceiling cassette, and ducted mini-split equipment
• Refrigerant line sets, condensate piping, and equipment drains
• Gas piping and appliance connections
• Sheet metal, plenums, transitions, and duct modifications
• Zone control panels, dampers, thermostats, and associated controls
• Indoor Air Quality equipment, including filtration, humidification, dehumidification, ERVs/HRVs, and other accessories
• Low-voltage HVAC controls and equipment wiring
• Equipment replacement and new installations

You'll also be responsible for working with and providing direction to helpers or apprentices assigned to your jobs.

We Expect Our Leads to Know the "Why"

Being able to physically install equipment is only part of this position.

A JP HVAC Lead Installer should understand why the system is being installed a certain way and be able to recognize when something isn't right.

You should be comfortable:

• Reading wiring diagrams and manufacturer literature
• Wiring HVAC equipment without needing someone to walk you through every connection
• Brazing while flowing nitrogen
• Pressure testing completed refrigeration systems
• Pulling and verifying a proper vacuum
• Charging and verifying refrigerant operation
• Checking airflow and static pressure
• Setting and verifying gas pressures
• Performing combustion testing when applicable
• Checking temperature rise and temperature split
• Wiring and troubleshooting zoning systems
• Installing and configuring thermostats and controls
• Diagnosing installation-related problems during start-up
• Completing a system start-up before calling the job finished

We don't expect anyone to know everything. We do expect our lead installers to have a strong technical foundation, know how to find the correct information, and be willing to continue learning.

What Good Work Looks Like at JP HVAC

Quality isn't just whether the system turns on.

We care about the details.

That means straight and properly supported piping. Clean electrical and control wiring. Thought-out equipment placement. Proper drainage. Sealed and supported ductwork. Clean penetrations. Following manufacturer requirements. Protecting the customer's home. Cleaning the work area when we're finished.

Most importantly, it means not walking away from something you know isn't right.

What We're Looking For

Required:

HVAC installation experience

Ability to perform installations at a lead level

EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant work

Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

Strong understanding of HVAC electrical and controls

Ability to perform refrigeration piping, evacuation, and start-up procedures

Valid driver's license

Dependable transportation

Professional attitude and communication

Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of HVAC installation work

Preferred:

• 3 years of HVAC installation experience
• New Hampshire Gas Fitters License
• Experience with heat pumps and cold-climate systems
• Multi-zone and mini-split installation experience
• Zoning and control experience
• Sheet metal and ductwork experience
• Gas piping experience
• Start-up and commissioning experience

You don't need to be the loudest person on the jobsite or pretend you know everything.

We're looking for someone who is dependable, skilled, teachable, and takes ownership of their work.

Someone who can lead when necessary, work alongside the rest of the crew, help an apprentice become better at the trade, and ask questions when something doesn't make sense.

Mistakes can be fixed. Questions can be answered.

What we can't work with is someone who doesn't care about the quality of the finished product.
