What is This Opportunity?
The 2026 Summer Intern will join a fast-paced team environment and will be expected to lead at least one project to completion throughout the internship duration. The intern will assist in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment. Under direct supervision/guidance, he/she will compile, analyze, test, and research data for newly designed or modified safety systems (airbag, steering wheel, seatbelt). This is a great opportunity for a student to gain experience in the automotive industry, working with a dynamic team of professionals from around the globe.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertakes and successfully completes simple or basic project/product development tasks.
- May assist in inventing / creating concepts and designs/approaches for new products.
- Designs, procures, and fabricates simple tooling and fixtures.
- Designs and coordinates engineering tests and experiments.
- Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to technical team.
- Completes basic tasks on engineering documentation.
- Report out at the end of the internship to the leadership team.

To participate in the JSS Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and will attend in Fall 2026.
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status as of Fall 2026.
- Must be able to work on-site 5 days per week in Auburn Hills or Armada, MI
- Target start date is May 18, 2026, and will run approximately 12 weeks
- Local candidates only. Relocation/housing stipends will not be offered.
Education Candidate must be pursuing a BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related disciplines.

Additional Information The base compensation range for this role is: $23.00-$27.00
The actual hourly wage offered will consider the candidate’s current academic level and degree candidacy, inclusive of Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, JD, MD, PhD and MBA programs. It will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements specific to the job location.
