We are seeking a compassionate, innovative, and forward-thinking Assistant Dean of Experiential Learning to help shape the future of immersive education in our School of Nursing on our Draper, Utah campus. In this leadership role, you will help guide the vision, operations, and continuous evolution of our state-of-the-art simulation centers and skills labs — creating learning experiences that prepare students to thrive in real-world practice.

How You’ll Make an Impact
In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all simulation and experiential learning activities. You will:
Lead with Purpose and Innovation
- Partner with the Associate Dean to advance a unified vision for simulation and learning technologies.
- Integrate emerging technologies, immersive tools, and simulation methodologies into academic programs.
- Pilot new initiatives that elevate student learning and strengthen program outcomes.
Ensure Excellence Across Simulation & Lab Operations
- Oversee daily operations of our simulation centers and skills labs, ensuring consistent, high-quality learner experiences.
- Coordinate scenario development, equipment procurement, space utilization, and technology implementation.
- Maintain alignment with Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice™ (HSSOBP) and accreditation requirements.
Develop and Support High-Performing Teams
- Mentor experiential educators, directors, and staff, fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
- Design and deliver training programs that elevate instructional quality and faculty readiness.
- Build strong relationships across departments to champion experiential learning.
Drive Continuous Improvement
- Monitor program effectiveness, analyzing data to guide enhancements in quality, technology, and learning outcomes.
- Contribute to scholarship through presentations, research, and professional association engagement.
- Support SSH accreditation processes and ensure readiness for ongoing review.
Requirements
What You Bring
You’ll thrive here if you are curious, collaborative, student-centered, and energized by innovation. We’re looking for someone with:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Utah (Required)
- Master’s degree in Nursing (Required); doctoral degree preferred
- CHSE certification (or ability to obtain within 24 months)
- 5 years of simulation instruction/management experience (Preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- A passion for experiential learning, technology integration, and student success
