Joyce Law Firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our established law practice in Northwest Arkansas. We are looking for an attorney with experience or a strong interest in family law and civil litigation. Experience in criminal defense is also highly valued, and candidates with personal injury experience or an interest in developing a personal injury practice are encouraged to apply. Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
This position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys working directly with clients, is comfortable handling matters independently, and wants the opportunity to practice across multiple areas of law while being supported by an experienced legal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law and civil matters
- Appear in court for hearings, motions, trials, and other proceedings
- Provide legal advice and develop case strategies
- Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Negotiate settlements and advocate on behalf of clients
- Communicate directly with clients regarding their cases, legal options, and expectations
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, legal assistants, and other firm staff
- Handle criminal defense matters depending on experience
- Opportunity to handle personal injury matters based on experience and interest
Practice Areas
The attorney's caseload may include:
- Divorce and family law
- Child custody and visitation
- Child support
- Guardianships and other family-related matters
- Civil litigation
- Criminal defense
- Personal injury, depending on experience and interest
Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the Arkansas Bar, or eligible for admission in Arkansas
- Family law and/or civil litigation experience preferred
- Courtroom and litigation experience preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Criminal defense experience is a plus
- Personal injury experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong legal research, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities
- Commitment to providing professional and client-focused legal representation
