Position Summary

The Manager of Advancement Data Services serves as the strategic owner of Joybound’s advancement data operations, analytics, and systems governance. This role is responsible for the integrity, performance, and strategic application of donor data to help drive revenue growth.

As the organization’s Raiser’s Edge (NXT) expert, the Manager designs and maintains advancement data architecture, establishes governance standards, delivers executive-level reporting and forecasting, and ensures seamless integration across advancement, finance, and marketing systems. While remaining hands-on in execution, this role operates with division-level accountability and cross-functional leadership to ensure data drives measurable philanthropic results.

Key Responsibilities

Advancement Data Strategy & Governance – 25%

· Own the strategy, architecture, and governance of all advancement data systems and processes.

· Establish and enforce data integrity standards, policies, and procedures.

· Serve as Joybound’s primary administrator and subject matter expert for Raiser’s Edge (NXT) and related fundraising technologies.

· Evaluate and recommend system enhancements, integrations, and technology investments to improve efficiency and scalability.

· Maintain up-to-date Advancement data policies, gift entry standards, and reporting procedures.

Revenue Intelligence & Analytics – 25%

· Design and deliver dashboards and performance reports for the CAO, CEO, and advancement team to track revenue, pipeline growth, donor retention, and fundraising progress.

· Develop forecasting models, trend analysis, and donor segmentation strategies to identify revenue growth opportunities.

· Provide data-driven insights to inform direct marketing, mid-level, major gift, legacy, and event fundraising strategies.

· Lead prospect tracking systems and moves management reporting to support portfolio performance and accountability.

· Monitor email performance and deliverability in partnership with Marketing.

Systems Integration & Financial Partnership – 15%

· Partner with the Controller and Finance team to ensure accurate gift entry, coding, reporting, and monthly reconciliation.

· Ensure alignment between advancement data systems and financial reporting requirements.

· Oversee integration between advancement, marketing automation, and digital engagement platforms to ensure seamless donor journeys.

· Support audit readiness and compliance related to donor records and gift documentation.

Advancement Operations & Support – 20%

· Provide high-level data support for major gifts, legacy giving, special events, and direct response programs.

· Design and execute complex queries, segmentation strategies, and data files for solicitations and prospect management.

· Ensure efficient and timely acknowledgment workflows, pledge tracking, and donor stewardship systems.

· Respond to internal data and reporting requests with accuracy, timeliness, and strategic insight.

· Cross-train with advancement staff to ensure continuity of gift processing during high-volume periods.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Management – 10%

· Lead by action and example to advance a culture of positivity, professionalism, trust, transparency, empathy, and excellence at Joybound.

· Co-manage the Development Coordinator who is responsible for gift processing, donor acknowledgements, state registrations, and administrative support.

· Collaborate with Marketing to align data segmentation, digital campaigns, and integrated work plans with organizational priorities.

· Serve as an internal consultant on donor movement strategy and performance measurement.

· Present data insights and recommendations to senior leadership to inform strategic planning and fundraising investments.

· Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the Advancement team.

Organizational Responsibilities – 10%

· Interact with colleagues, volunteers, and the public in a manner that advances a culture of positivity, professionalism, trust, transparency, empathy, and excellence.

· Maintain confidentiality of donor and organizational information.

· Promote humane and caring attitudes toward all animals.

· Comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations and Joybound policies.

· Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational success.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree preferred.

· Five-plus years' experience managing Raiser’s Edge (NXT) database systems.

· Demonstrated experience building dashboards, reports, and revenue analysis tools.

· Experience supporting multi-channel fundraising operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable strategy.

· Advanced proficiency in database management, reporting tools, Excel, and data segmentation.

· Proven ability to design systems, improve processes, and implement operational efficiencies.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present insights to senior leadership.

· High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.

· Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and drive results.

· Comfort working cross-functionally with Finance, Marketing, and Advancement.

· Affection for Joybound’s mission, animals, concern for their welfare, and a willingness to accommodate animals in the workplace.

· Pre-employment background screening required.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Specific physical abilities required by this job include:

· Work environment includes constant exposure to animals and animal allergens.

· Standing or sitting for extended periods of time.

 

Hours:

· Full-time exempt position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. Occasional work from home option possible.

Salary : $90,000 - $96,000
