What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Support (Classroom) position at Joya Child & Family Development?
Salary: $21.64 Hourly
**Hours:
Monday - 8:30am - Noon
Tuesday - 8:30am - 4:00pm
Wednesday - 8:30am - 4:30pm (Also willing to split shift with unpaid break from Noon - 3:30pm) First Wednesday of the Month MUST be here for Noon staff meeting.
Thursday - 8:30am - 1pm
Friday - 8:30am - Noon
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide assistancein the planning and preparation of classroom activities with recognition of thepresent levels of developmentofthe children.
- Organizeand cleanclassroomand therapymaterials and equipment.Set up chairs and adaptive equipment forclassroomand therapyparticipation.
- Know,understand,and reinforce theteachers andtherapistsobjectivestosupport therapeutic activitieswithin the classroomand therapy.
- Know,understand,and reinforceappropriate individualizedpositive reinforcement.
- Promote self-esteem and independence inthe children.
- Treat families with respect, promoting parent involvement in the classroomwhenappropriate.
- Independentlymaintaina learning environmentin the classroom when the teacher is absent.
- Change diapers.
- Provide assistancein feedingobjectivesduring snack programs.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroomand therapyenvironment.
- Wash and dry bibs, blankets,and other classroom equipment as assigned.
- Provide relief toAdministrativeAssistant for breaks, vacation, and sick leave.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- None
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of HIPAAand FERPArequirements/regulations.
- Knowledge and familiarity with applicable day care guidelines and regulations.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite and internet applications.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strongteamworkand collaboration skills.
- Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment effectively.
Education, Certifications and Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with toddlers with developmental disabilities or delays, desirable.
- T.B.Test, proof ofTDapImmunization, and Hepatitis Bvaccinations.
Environmental Factors:
- Valid driver's license and vehicle with proof of insurance.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 40 poundsregularly.
- Indoors,sedentaryupto7hours/daysittingorstandingandupto4hours/day keyboarding.
- Abilitytonavigateclientsites(unpavedwalkways,stairs,narrowhallways,etc.)ona regularbasis.
- Ability to bend, twist, stoopon a regularbasis.
