Joy Therapy and Learning Center is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Patient Care Coordinator to welcome our families to the clinic. The Coordinator will be responsible for various front office duties and is accountable for efficient patient flow, answering phones, scheduling, and maintaining accurate patient information, along with other defined duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Patient Care Coordinator meets and greets all patients with a smile and friendly, helpful manner; checks-in patients, announces, directs and/or escorts to the appropriate area.
- Answers, screens, and directs calls; responds to patient inquiries.
- Obtains initial patient information and enters data into the EMR system. The Coordinator verifies and copies all insurance cards and/or verifies insurance via carrier database. Enters any changes in patient data into the EMR system.
- Collects appropriate copayments at the front desk. Scans and uploads all patient documents into the patient’s chart on the EMR.
- Responsible for providing necessary documentation to patients upon request.
- Maintains Patient Registration Forms and other forms as needed.
- Straightens front desk area as patient flow allows.
- Assists patient at check-out, gives work/school excuses, helps patient complete records request as needed.
- Schedules appointments per the Therapist's instruction.
- Answers some billing questions or refers patient to the Billing Department for more in-depth resolution.
- The Patient Care Coordinator demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues and displays excellent customer service at all times.
- Provides training for new personnel, to include EMR instruction, policies and procedures, workflow, etc.
- Follows Corporate, Ethical, and HIPAA policies and procedures to ensure the confidentiality of all patient information.
- Effectively practices teamwork, respect for coworkers, good attendance and punctuality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
