About Us
Joy Street life home is an award-winning gift boutique in West Concord, approaching our 10-year anniversary. We're known as the neighborhood's one-stop shop for gifts, home decor, jewelry, greeting cards, party supplies, and baby/kids items, carrying beloved brands like Jellycat, Maileg, and Mariposa alongside local artisans. We're looking for a Sales Manager who loves connecting with customers and can help lead our team through our busiest and most exciting seasons.
The Role
The Sales Manager oversees day-to-day store operations and leads the sales team. Reports to the owner. This person ensures every customer has a warm, memorable experience and plays a key role in driving sales, managing staff schedules, and keeping the store running smoothly, with special focus during our peak Q4 (November–December) season.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and schedule sales associates to ensure excellent coverage and customer service across store hours
- Drive sales performance by setting goals, tracking results, and coaching the team on upselling and product knowledge
- Oversee visual merchandising to keep displays fresh, seasonal, and on-brand
- Manage inventory alongside the owner, including receiving shipments, stock counts, and reorder recommendations
- Handle customer inquiries, special orders, and any service issues with grace and professionalism
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new sales associates
- Help plan and execute in-store events and promotions, especially during the holiday season
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment
- Assist with opening/closing procedures and point-of-sale operations
Qualifications
- 21 years and authorized to work in the US
- 3 years retail experience and 1 years supervisory or management experience required
- Genuine enthusiasm for gifts and creating a great customer experience
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Comfortable with basic POS systems and inventory tracking
- Ability to work weekends and a flexible schedule, particularly during the Q4 holiday rush
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and a team player
- Retail math skills (making change, calculating discounts, basic sales reporting)
- Able to walk up/down stairs frequently to our basement to collect inventory and lift 20–50lbs

- Schedule: 5 days/week (incl. 1 weekend day); During Q4, likely shifts to both weekend days plus 3 weekdays
