We are seeking a dedicated, organized, and compassionate House Manager to lead daily operations, support staff, and ensure high‑quality services for the individuals we serve.
Position Summary
The House Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and daily operations of the group home. This role ensures regulatory compliance, supports Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and promotes a positive, collaborative work culture.
The House Manager is a key member of the administrative team and participates in bi‑weekly leadership meetings with the Program Director, Risk Manager, and Owner to discuss program needs, improvements, and organizational updates.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Support
- Provide strong, positive leadership to DSPs through coaching, communication, and ongoing support.
- Conduct performance evaluations and foster a team‑oriented, productive work environment.
- Train staff on Individual Support Plans (ISPs), Plans for Supports, and DSP Core Competencies.
- Create and manage staff schedules; ensure adequate coverage and provide on‑call support.
Person‑Centered Service Delivery
- Build meaningful, professional relationships with individuals receiving services.
- Coordinate daily activities, community engagement, and skill‑building opportunities.
- Schedule and transport individuals to medical, dental, and behavioral health appointments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for individuals, families, guardians, and stakeholders.
- Provide positive behavior support and ensure documentation is completed accurately.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with DBHDS, DMAS, Medicaid Waiver, and Human Rights regulations.
- Monitor and review incident reports; implement systems to enhance safety and quality of care.
- Conduct monthly facility inspections and ensure the home is clean, safe, and well‑maintained.
- Request and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
- Uphold confidentiality, professional boundaries, and residents’ rights at all times.
Administrative & Operational Duties
- Maintain accurate documentation including daily notes, monthly summaries, quarterly reports, and annual updates.
- Order groceries, household supplies, and maintain inventory.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual team meetings.
- Support audits, licensing reviews, and quality assurance activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure smooth home operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in human services, residential support, or a related field.
- Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring Individual Support Plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to de‑escalate and resolve challenging situations professionally.
- Basic computer proficiency (email, documentation systems, scheduling tools).
- Ability to build effective relationships with individuals, staff, families, and community partners.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
