Overview
This Payroll Clerk is responsible for learning and supporting all functions of payroll processing for company-wide payroll operations managed at the Hermitage facility. The individual will work closely with the current Payroll Manager providing support and serving as a backup by performing all payroll processing functions in their absence. In addition, this position will act as a backup for Accounts Payable operations at the Hermitage facility, ensuring continuity and accuracy in financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify employee time records, including hours worked, paid time off, deductions, and other payroll adjustments to ensure accuracy
- Enter, maintain, and process payroll-related information within the UKG/Kronos web-based payroll and timekeeping system
- Assist with the completion of weekly, bi-weekly, quarterly, and year-end payroll processes and reporting
- Stay informed on changes to tax regulations and deduction laws that impact payroll and accounts payable functions to ensure compliance
- Learn and support the organization’s Infor-based Accounts Payable system and provide backup assistance when needed
- Participate in occasional offsite trainings, seminars, and webinars to support ongoing professional development
- Be available to work overtime as necessary to meet business needs
Essential Functions
- Must be highly motivated, able to follow direction, and perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervision

- Must be able to work collaboratively within the department and with multiple departments within the company
- Strong organizational skills and ability to analyze / interpret technical information, mathematical concepts, and form conclusions
- Adherence to the company attendance policy is required, including expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absences
- Involves extensive computer systems/software operation and regular use of office equipment
- Work is primarily sedentary
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, manipulate or otherwise move objects
- Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer monitor, extensive reading
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Previous experience in payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative support is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
