Jovian Concepts, LLC is looking to hire a Software Engineer Level 2 for a great opportunity in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.

A current and active TS/SCI clearance with a MD Polygraph is required.

Job Description:

The team is looking for an experienced Software Development professional to join a dynamic team creating and enhancing a cutting-edge FORNSAT Dashboard prototype. Candidates should be experienced and knowledgeable in all aspects of the software engineering process to include analysis, design, development, test, and integration. Applicants should have experience using tools such as ReactJs, NodeJs, Typescript, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB or similar database.

The Software Engineer 2 shall possess the following capabilities:

• Analyze userrequirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Debug existingsoftware and correct defects.
• Providerecommendations for improving documentation and software developmentprocess standards.
• Design and codenew software or modify existing software to add new features.
• Integrate existingsoftware into new or modified systems or operating environments.
• Develop simpledata queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
• Write or reviewsoftware and system documentation.
• Serve as team leadat the level appropriate to the software development process being used onany particular project.
• Design orimplement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.
• Develop orimplement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functionalstandards.
• Assist withdeveloping and executing test procedures for software components.
• Develop softwaresolutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users orsystem engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; andinvestigate problem areas.
• Modify existingsoftware to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve itsperformance.
• Design, developand modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematicalmodels to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
• Design orimplement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, systemresource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on teamproducts.
• Implementrecommendations for improving documentation and software developmentprocess standards.
• Oversee one ormore software development teams and ensure the work is completed inaccordance with the constraints of the software development process beingused on any particular project.
• Confer with systemengineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and toobtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performancerequirements and interfaces.
• Coordinatesoftware system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensureoperational specifications are met.

Requirements

A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a MD Polygraph required.

Required Experience:

• Fourteen(14) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope,type, and complexity is required. Four (4) years of additional SWEexperience on projects with similar software processes may be substitutedfor a bachelor's degree.
• Applicants should have experience using tools such as ReactJs, NodeJs, Typescript, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB or similar database.
• Candidates should be experienced and knowledgeable in all aspects of the software engineering process to include analysis, design, development, test, and integration.

Required Education:

• ABachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from anaccredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additionalSWE experience on projects with similar software processes may besubstituted for a bachelor's degree.

Desired Skills:

• Experiencein Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps, deployment, and Gitlab pipelines is highlydesirable.
• Strongskills navigating environments within Linux, VMs, containers anddeveloping & Integrating RESTful services is key.
• Candidatesmust be comfortable working in an environment that includes newdevelopment, integration with legacy capabilities, and support forexisting capabilities.
