What You Will Be Doing
- Perform a central role in Asset Liability Management (ALM) modeling. Prepare and assist in the preparation of quarterly ALM analyses and reports.
- Implement and maintain existing interest rate risk simulation model and related balance sheet valuation verifying the accuracy, reasonableness, and consistency of data and assumptions.
- Support ALM related initiatives, including work with external third parties involved in the ALM process as applicable to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Assist with purchases, reconciliations and third-party settlements for investments or wholesale asset products (government guaranteed loans, etc)
- Assist with investment and GGL portfolio analysis and monthly board reporting.
- Assist with cash management and cash flow forecast modeling as required.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the VP Treasury or the CFO. Ensure the VP Treasury and CFO are aware of all material undertakings at the request of others.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance is strongly desired. A master’s degree in finance or progress towards CFA designation (Level 1 or Level 2) is preferred.
- Minimum two to three years’ experience in a financial institution setting with focus on ALM & Investments is desirable.
- Strong analytical and research skills are required.
- Advanced knowledge of excel including filters, formulas, and formatting. The ability to download and manipulate data is required.
- Ability to adapt to use of new software or operating environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
- Internet speed of 100 mbps or higher required (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net).
- Able to dedicate a quiet space for daily work that is free of sound interruptions.
