What you will be doing:
- Review loan packages to ensure all financial information has been obtained with appropriate signatures.
- Gather and review all necessary underwriting information including but not limited to financial statements, tax returns, rent rolls and operating statements, liquidity statements, projections, credit report, legal documents to determine the degree of risk involved and the proper premium for acceptable risks. Accepts risks that meet underwriting standards and declines those which do not, within assigned scope of broad underwriting authority.
- Review real estate purchase contracts, title reports, appraisals, and environmental reports for collateral evaluation.
- Underwrite business credit cards and overdraft lines of credit up to $50,000.00.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of and adhere to relevant NCUA, federal, and state lending regulations, and Jovia loan policies, procedures, and underwriting guidelines.
- Validate all Jovia loan policies and underwriting guidelines were met before submitting to Management and MBL Committee for decisioning.
- Assist with preparing closing loan documents.
- Assist with scanning and filing of loan documentation received in connection with new loan application or existing loans.
- Attend and participate in Member Business Loan Committee meetings and serve as Minute Taker of Loan Committee meetings and distribute the minutes to all relevant people as detailed in the Participants section. Ensure that a copy of the meeting minutes is filed appropriately for future reference.
- When needed, resolves member issues pertaining to business practices, policies and procedures.
What we need from you:
- College degree preferred with concentrations in accounting, finance, taxation, real estate, and/or business administration.
- Knowledge and understanding of fundamentals in commercial credit analysis required.
- Individuals who completed formal credit training highly desirable.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial banking, one (1) of which has been in a credit analyst or underwriting support position.
- Individual must function with minimal supervision and have excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects and tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in math and calculations related to lending. Well versed in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Detail oriented, excellent analytical skills, aptitude for figures, and computer/Internet savvy.
Work From Home and Hybrid Requirements: This particular position is Hybrid and requires in-office / plus work from home days to our offices in Westbury, New York:
- Internet speed of 100 mbps or higher required (you can test this by going to www.speedtest.net).
- Able to dedicate a quiet space for daily work that is free of sound interruptions.
- All equipment will be provided by Jovia (Computer, Monitor, Headset)
