JourneyCare Hospice is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for our Inpatient Unit in Barrington, IL. This is a night shift role with a consistent, predictable schedule and competitive hourly pay.
Pay and Schedule
- Base pay: Up to $26/hour - based on experience
- Night shift differentials:
- $1.25/hour for weekday nights
- $2.50/hour for weekend nights
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
- Includes every other weekend and 3 holidays per year
Qualifications:
- Certified by the state as a nurse aide
- Maintains a current CPR Certification
- List on the state aide registry with a clear record able to deliver care to patients
- 18 years of age unless state law dictates otherwise
- Valid drivers license with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state requirements or reliable transportation preferred
HOURS: (3) 12-hour Shifts/Week 7PM-7:30AM Including Every Other Weekend and 3 Holidays/Year

What Youll Do:
- The Hospice CNA-IPU (Certified Nurse Assistant Inpatient Unit) works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patients personal comfort needs at the unit.
- The CNA is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed.
- Performing personal care needs after given a patients assignment and attending to his/her requests promptly.
- Meeting safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2 etc.)
- Giving personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos and changing bed lined as often as assigned
- Reporting on patients condition and significant changes. Also aware of the caregiver or other individuals visiting with the patient and interpersonal issues
- Adhering to the organizations documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct
