We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness while managing side effects.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients about mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives as needed.
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatric practices and treatments.
Skills
The successful candidate should possess a diverse skill set that includes but is not limited to:
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks.
- Experience in critical care settings, including ICU and emergency medicine.
- Knowledge of behavioral health practices and psychopharmacology.
- Ability to perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and spinal taps.
- Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-9, ICD-10) and workers' compensation law.
- Experience with pediatric populations, including working with children and adolescents.
- Competence in acute pain management, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, and senior care.
- Strong assessment skills for patient evaluation and diagnosis.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Ability to provide telehealth services as needed. Candidates who have experience in specialized areas such as gastroenterology, infectious disease care, or home care will be considered favorably. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development is essential for this role.
