Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of psychiatric care, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and treat patients across various settings. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness while managing side effects.
  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients about mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives as needed.
  • Stay current with advancements in psychiatric practices and treatments.

Skills
The successful candidate should possess a diverse skill set that includes but is not limited to:

  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks.
  • Experience in critical care settings, including ICU and emergency medicine.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health practices and psychopharmacology.
  • Ability to perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and spinal taps.
  • Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-9, ICD-10) and workers' compensation law.
  • Experience with pediatric populations, including working with children and adolescents.
  • Competence in acute pain management, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, and senior care.
  • Strong assessment skills for patient evaluation and diagnosis.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Ability to provide telehealth services as needed. Candidates who have experience in specialized areas such as gastroenterology, infectious disease care, or home care will be considered favorably. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development is essential for this role.

Pay: From $120,341.59 per year
