Summary/Objective
The behavioral health therapist professional position is responsible for offering guidance to individuals, couples, and groups who are dealing with issues that affect their mental health, quality of life, and general well-being. The behavioral health professional will work closely with those seeking services ensuring that their changing needs are addressed on an ongoing basis and that the individuals are provided assistance in developing the coping strategies and tools needed in order for them to improve their lives and mental health. Behavioral health professionals are expected to provide the individuals served with linkage, consultation, and referrals to other service providers as needed in order to meet the individualized ongoing needs of each client. In addition, this individual is required to work successfully with representatives from various communities, organizations and neighborhoods with respect to the diverse populations and cultures, serves and seeks to serve. The behavioral health professional will also adhere to the code of ethics for their profession.
Essential Functions

Completes initial assessment and intake of the client
Develops Master Treatment Plan
Reviews and edits treatment plans as needed, at least every 90 days
Uses appropriate modalities during sessions with Clients
Participation in development of the client's service plan
Referrals, linkage, and coordination of Medicaid and non-Medicaid services
Advocacy
Monitoring
Leads group sessions, as assigned by Supervisor
Develop or improve materials used in group therapy sessions based on expertise and experience, under direct supervision
Reassessment and follow-up
Attends and Participates in Treatment Team Meetings
Establishment and maintenance of case records
Crisis assistance planning
Work with individuals, groups, and communities to improve mental health
Encourage clients to discuss emotions and experiences
Examine issues including but not limited to substance abuse, aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, LGBTQ issues, self-image, stress, suicidal ideation, trauma, and anxiety.
Work with families when necessary
Develop therapeutic processes
Complete linking and collaboration with referral sources and service providers as needed.
Assist individuals with defining goals
Responsible for the scheduling of 30 direct time hours weekly and completing a minimum of 24 hours of direct time weekly.
Submitting session notes within 48 hours of the service being provided.
Complete and maintain documentation of a minimum of six (6) hours of training or continuing education.
Represents the company at community events in professional manner.
Complete 2 Community Events every 6 months (4 total in a year), with sufficient proof of attendance
Performs other related duties as assigned.
