Nurse Aide Instructor
Description
Provide instruction for the Nurse Aide program. Includes instruction in Long-Term Care, Legal and Ethics, Personal Care Skills, Basic Nursing Skills, Mental Health, Restorative Skills, Dementia, PPE, Basic Medical Terminology, Chronic Illnesses and Diseases, and Basic Medical Terminology.
Essential Duties
- Provides classroom lectures and hands-on instruction in area of expertise in skills lab.
- Attend clinical site with students and provide instruction and supervision.
- Follows published schedule of classes.
- Grades, administers and facilitates quizzes, exams, hands-on practicums or other tools used to evaluate student progress.
- Maintain knowledge of, and exhibits current methodology in, area of instruction.
- Manage classroom activities by enforcing standards, rules and regulations.
- Promotes a culture of customer service through words and actions.
- Provides feedback to the Director of Clinical Services and/or Program Director on course progress, suggested improvements, or problems that may impact program quality or stability.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in Mississippi.
- Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D.
- MUST be eligible for approval by Mississippi Commission on Proprietary Schools and Colleges Registration.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English, written, and verbal skills.
- Must have at least one year of nursing experience in a Long-Term Care Setting.
- Ability to perform physical work with patients and students in a clinical setting.
- Microsoft Office knowledge
- Ability to lift at least 25lbs.
Skills and Abilities
- Must be proficient in clinical nursing skills.
- Proficient in PowerPoint and/or Google Slides
- Must be dependable and have excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Skilled in teaching adult learners.
- Ability to work independently.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Promotes a culture of customer service through words and actions.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
