This leadership role provides clinical oversight for ASAM Level 2.5 Partial Hospitalization (PHP), ASAM Level 2.1 Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services, and Peer Recovery Support Services (PRSS) ensuring high-quality care and compliance with Virginia DBHDS regulations and Medicaid regulations and requirements.
The Clinical Director works collaboratively with the Leadership Team to support clinical integrity, staff development, and program quality.
Our current Clinical Director plans to transition out of the role over the coming months and will provide onboarding support and training to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Oversight
Provide clinical leadership for outpatient behavioral health programs including:
Provide guidance on complex clinical cases and treatment planning.
Clinical Supervision
Provide supervision for clinical staff including:
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Oversee clinical documentation including:
Ensure compliance with DBHDS regulations and internal policies.
Collaboration
Work closely with:
EDUCATION:
Required: Master’s Degree
Field: Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health field
Required
Active Virginia licensure as one of the following:
Minimum 5 years clinical experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment.
Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Knowledge of ASAM criteria and DBHDS regulations.
Preferred Experience
Behavioral Health Clinical Experience: 3-5 years (Preferred)
Substance Use Treatment Experience: 3 years (Preferred)
Supervisory Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

- Diagnostic evaluations
- ASAM assessments
- Service authorization requests
- Individualized service plans
- Progress notes
- Discharge summaries
Ensure compliance with DBHDS regulations and internal policies.

EDUCATION:
Required: Master’s Degree
