What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at Journey Homes?
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Caregivers to join our team! Positions are available for both full-time and part-time evening shifts (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) and overnight shifts (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM), including every other weekend.
In this rewarding role, you will provide high-quality support to adults with disabilities, helping them live as independently and meaningfully as possible. You’ll play a vital part in creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Promote independence and encourage participation in daily routines and community activities
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of each individual
- Follow care plans and document observations as required
Qualifications:
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous caregiving experience is a plus, but not required (training provided)
