Position Title:  Youth Pastor | Youth Coordinator

Job Purpose:

The Youth Pastor provides spiritual leadership and pastoral care to students at their campus by creating environments where teenagers can know Jesus, grow in their faith, and live on mission. This role equips leaders, partners with parents, and aligns with the vision of the Youth Ministry across all campuses

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and disciple the students of your campus through weekly gatherings, small groups, and personal connection.
• Recruit, develop, and shepherd youth leaders, equipping them to lead small groups and serve on teams.
• Preach and teach God’s Word in a way that is biblically faithful, engaging, and relevant to students.
• Build and sustain a healthy small group culture where students feel known, cared for, and challenged to grow.
• Develop a culture of outreach and evangelism, encouraging students to invite friends and share their faith at school.
• Partner with parents by providing resources, communication, and pastoral care as they disciple their teenagers at home.
• Oversee campus-specific youth nights, ensuring excellence in worship, teaching, and overall experience.
• Create and implement strategies for follow-up and assimilation of new students into groups and community.
• Provide pastoral care, mentorship, and crisis support for students and families as needed.
• Cultivate a student leadership pipeline, training students to serve, lead, and multiply disciples.
• Collaborate with the central Youth Team to align vision, teaching series, and discipleship strategies across campuses.
• Help lead and pastor students during retreats, mission trips, and summer camps.
• Pray consistently for students, leaders, and families, modeling a life of devotion to Christ.
• Perform other campus-specific pastoral duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities    

• Communicate and create clarity around the values of Journey Church’s culture within Journey Youth.
• Promote church wide ministry events.

Sunday Responsibilities:

• Relationally connect with students and parents at your assigned campus.
• Assist with additional responsibilities given by Campus Pastor.
  

Qualifications / Experience:

• 1-3 years staff experience within a Youth Ministry.
• Experience in organizing multiple people.
• Organized, flexible, able to multitask.
• Strong oral & written skills.
• Strong interpersonal people skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This role is responsible for the supervision of the Youth Dream Team volunteers.
