About the Role:

The Press Operator Trainee role is designed to provide comprehensive training and hands-on experience in operating and maintaining printing press machinery within the Information and Media Services industry. The primary goal is to develop proficiency in managing press operations to ensure high-quality print production that meets company standards and client expectations. This position involves learning to set up, adjust, and troubleshoot press equipment while adhering to safety protocols and production schedules. The trainee will collaborate closely with experienced operators and production teams to gain practical knowledge of print processes, materials, and quality control measures. Ultimately, the role prepares the individual to independently operate press machinery efficiently, contributing to the seamless delivery of printed media products at the corporate facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical equipment operation.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle manual tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or coursework related to printing technology or machinery operation.(1-3 years minimum)
  • Familiarity with basic computer skills and production tracking software.
  • Understanding of quality control principles in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform minor repairs.
  • Certification in occupational safety or related fields.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up printing presses by loading paper, inks, and other materials under supervision.
  • Operate press machinery, including starting, stopping, and monitoring the printing process.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor print quality and make necessary adjustments to maintain consistency and accuracy.
  • Follow safety guidelines and company procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with production and quality control teams to meet daily production targets.
  • Document production activities and report any equipment malfunctions or issues to supervisors.
