Role Description: The Pharmacy Technician Trainee is a part-time, on-site role. This role includes supporting the existing pharmacy staff with day-to-day operations, assisting with prescription processing, preparing and labeling medications, managing inventory of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, maintain accurate records, restock shelves, and monitor product expiration dates to ensure compliance and safety.
Daily responsibilities also include greeting customers in-person or over the phone, answering basic questions, and directing more complex inquiries to pharmacists or senior staff. The role requires consistent adherence to pharmacy policies, privacy regulations, and quality standards while learning and applying best practices in a fast-paced retail pharmacy setting.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge or strong interest in prescriptions and pharmacy operations.
- Candidates should possess skills related to working with pharmacy technicians and supporting licensed pharmacy professionals.
- Candidates should possess inventory control skills, including organizing stock and maintaining accurate product counts.
- Candidates should possess customer service skills, including clear communication, professionalism, and a helpful attitude.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework in pharmacy, health sciences, or related fields is beneficial but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a regulated environment.
- Willingness to learn pharmacy workflows, confidentiality requirements, and safety protocols; prior retail or healthcare experience is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, handle pharmacy and cosmetic products safely, and work flexible hours as needed.
- Ability to speak Spanish is not required, but highly sought after!
