QC Technician

Job Title: QC Technician

Location: Clover, South Carolina

Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour (2nd shift differential $1.00) 

Contractor Work Model: Onsite

Hours: 2nd Shift (1/2 PM - 9/10 PM)

Responsibilities

• Test all samples brought into the lab (raw material, intermediate, or finished good samples) during the 2nd shift to ensure continuous operational flow of the production team.
• Gather all necessary microbial testing samples on finished goods and record data accurately in the SAP system.
• Create product labels, process batches, and file paperwork systematically.
• Collaborate with production teams to investigate and rectify inconsistencies or incomplete reports, maintaining quality and compliance standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment, adhering to safety policies and promoting safe work practices.
• Communicate test results and provide corrective instructions to production teams.
• Verify batch tickets and packing lists using SAP, entering QC data, and making usage decisions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including Particle Size Analysis, FTIR, Brookfield viscosity, Ash Determinations, analytical scales, and Gardner color instruments.
• Assist with product testing post-manufacture and perform preventative maintenance on lab instrumentation.
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, 14001 Quality Management Systems, and SQF system protocols.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support quality objectives.

• High School diploma or GED, with 2-3 years of laboratory experience or equivalent technical training, or an Associate of Science degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Basic chemistry, math, and computer skills required.
• Strong data observation and interpretation skills, with good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; SAP experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of laboratory instrumentation including Particle Size Analysis, FTIR, Brookfield viscosity, Ash Determinations, analytical scales, and Gardner color.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
