Microbiologist

Job Title: Microbiologist
Location: Stamford, CT
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours: Mon – Thurs, 32 hours per week depending on the workload
Compensation: $25.00/hr
Type: Contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the microbiology laboratory team performing standard microbiological tests, such as preservative effectiveness, microbial limits testing, time kill kinetic studies, and in vivo testing
• Support the North America Henkel Consumer Brands business, including brands such as Dial, Persil, All, and Purex
• Prepare large amounts of microbiological media and operate autoclaves
• Handle live microorganisms following standard procedures
• Perform basic microbiological testing and dish washing
• Report out results accurately and efficiently
• Work independently once training is completed, as needed
  

• Preferred experience working in a microbiology laboratory or a degree in Microbiology, or working towards a degree in Microbiology with basic lab courses
• Ability to perform microbiological tests and handle live microorganisms
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently after training
• Basic laboratory skills including media preparation and autoclave operation
• Excellent reporting and communication skills
