Responsibilities:
- Performs routine and complex laboratory testing in accordance with established competencies and SOPs
- Follows all pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical procedures for specimen handling, testing, and reporting
- Monitors, documents, and troubleshoots QC, maintenance, and calibration activities per regulatory standards
- Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory instruments; escalates unresolved issues to the Supervisor
- Participates in proficiency testing and maintains compliance with PT requirements
- Assists with maintaining and updating laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory documentation
- Supports supervisor in ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory agencies
- Performs method validations, linearity, and parallel studies as assigned
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment; adheres to safety and HIPAA requirements
- Manages laboratory inventory and communicates supply needs proactively
- Demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or related science (or CLIA-qualifying education/experience)
- 4 years of experience
- Meets CLIA requirements, including 24 credits in Biology/Chemistry plus high-complexity lab experience
- Strong basic laboratory skills: micropipetting, solution preparation/dilution, aseptic technique, and instrument operation
- Ability to read and interpret scientific literature
- Works independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with ELISA and/or radioimmunoassays (Preferred)
- High-volume micropipetting experience (Preferred)
- Experience in a CLIA-licensed diagnostic laboratory (Preferred)
