Responsibilities
- Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous materials.
- Optimize lab procedures to produce reliable results that impact research and development, quality control, and environmental standards.
- Handle sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances, reporting findings to the laboratory manager.
- Receive, label, and analyze samples such as blood, toxic, and tissue specimens.
- Design and execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures, making observations and interpreting findings.
- Conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify or reject hypotheses using scientific methods.
- Organize and store chemicals, fluids, and compressed gases following safety instructions.
- Record all data and results accurately in specified forms (paper and electronic).
- Maintain laboratory equipment and assist in ordering supplies.
- Follow all safety guidelines strictly and maintain a clean, orderly environment.
- Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of complex laboratory techniques, equipment, terminology, materials, and substances.
- Skilled in the use of laboratory equipment, statistical calculations, and report preparation.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- An analytical mindset with proactive problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with repetitive tasks and handling small intricate parts is a plus.
