Lab Technician

Job Title: Lab Technician 
Location: Hackettstown, NJ
Hours / Schedule: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, onsite
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $21.00 - $25.00

 

Responsibilities

• Follow all laboratory SOPs, checklists, and manufacturer manuals.
• Maintain compliance with all HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
• Accession samples as they are received and store under proper conditions until processing starts.
• Extract DNA from saliva, sperm, and follicular fluid samples.
• Process samples through the Axiom 2.0 manual workflow and maintaining associated work logs.
• Process samples through the M2 workflow, creating reports, and maintaining associated work logs.
• Prepare laboratory buffers, including proper labeling of stored solutions and updating preparation logs.
• Perform inventory, receive and store laboratory supplies in proper conditions according to label instructions and laboratory policies.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and update cleaning and maintenance logs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the laboratory.
• Immediately notify laboratory supervisor of any deviances from approved policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience with human samples in a clinical setting.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology, preferably genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or biomedical engineering.
• If the degree is not from a US institution, transcripts need to be available for review by an organization that will do foreign credential evaluation.
