Supports and assists in the design, development, production, testing, operation and maintenance of components and equipment. Prepares detailed drawings and layouts and conduct materials testing. Performs equipment maintenance, calibration, mechanical and electrical repairs, adjustments and monitoring of products under development. Experienced with complex instruments, testing equipment and gauges. May test models, write reports, identify problems and suggest solutions.

Full Job Description:
Supports and assists in the design, development, production, testing, operation and maintenance of components and equipment. Prepares detailed drawings and layouts and conduct materials testing. Performs equipment maintenance, calibration, mechanical and electrical repairs, adjustments and monitoring of products under development. Experienced with complex instruments, testing equipment and gauges. May test models, write reports, identify problems and suggest solutions.
- Fabrication & Assembly: Operate a variety of tools to build physical prototypes, including hand tools and power tools
- Equipment Operation: Setup and operating laser cutter, laser welder, 3D printer and electropolishing equipment
- Post-Processing: Perform finishing work on parts, such as sandblasting and deburring
- Lab Maintenance: Keep the workspace organized, perform preventative maintenance on machines, and manage materials and tools inventory.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering team to troubleshoot design builds and suggest practical improvements for manufacturability.
- BS Degree in Engineering
- 0-2 years of experience
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong comfort level using manual tools (drills, saws, calipers) and a natural curiosity for how things work.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read basic 2D drawings or 3D CAD files and follow complex instructions.
- Safety Mindset: A strict commitment to workshop safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
