Acts as a technical team member to support AS&T by assisting in the development of analytical methods for the detection of impurities to ensure our products meet quality standards and current health authority expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Technical:
- Develops proficiency using analytical techniques to support upper-level scientists and assigned projects. This includes, but is not limited to preparation of solvents, standards, mobile phases, and samples required for analytical testing.
- Develops operational proficiency using instrumentation to support work based upon assigned projects. This may include, but is not limited to testing via UPLC, HPLC, LC/MS and GC.
Team work:- Works independently and/or in a team environment to meet or exceed established objectives.
- Understands established internal and external expectations and maintains effective communication pathways.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and procedures.
Compliance:- Maintains all training requirements for assigned activities.
- Complies with EHS requirements and AS&T safety procedures, and ensures good housekeeping practices to maintain a safe laboratory working environment.
- Develops an understanding of applicable GxP processes and procedures, data integrity requirements, and good documentation practices, and demonstrates expert knowledge of AS&T procedures
Activities Task Details- Performs analyses of samples using established UPLC-MS methods.
- Performs finished product extraction using liquid-liquid extraction, solid phase extraction and other methods.
- Assist in the development and validation of new UPLC-MS methods for trace level analysis.
- Perform data acquisition and processing using specialized software.
- Maintains all training requirements for assigned tasks.
- Complies with EHS requirements and safety procedures to maintain a safe laboratory working environment.
- Adhere to all QMS policies, compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge/Education/Experience Required
Minimum Education Level- Associates Degree Life Science - Minimum 3 years experience
- Bachelors Degree Life Science (Chemistry Preferred) - 0-5 years experience
- Individual should have a strong understanding of chemistry and laboratory instrumentation. This is a technical position that will be expected to work semi-autonomously at times.
Job-Related Experiences- The preferred level of experience for this roll is a candidate with a Bachelors Degree in a Life Science (Chemistry preferred) with 0-5 years experience. However, a candidate with an Associates Degree in a Life Science (Chemistry preferred) with a minimum of 3 years experience in a GxP laboratory environment may also be considered.
- This level of experience is acceptable as an entry level position within AS&T as the intent is to introduce the position to a GxP laboratory environment and increase skills over time.
