Arborist crew leader

Arborist Crew Leader — Joshua Tree Experts (North Charlotte)

Lead a climbing crew delivering precision pruning, technical rigging, safe removals, and plant health care for residential and commercial clients. This is a climbing role; crane experience is a plus for complex removals.

What you’ll do

- Run the crew: plan the day, brief the team, and keep the site safe and efficient.

- Train and mentor crew members; lead skills coaching, safety huddles, and on-the-job development.

- Climb using modern DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems; design rigging plans and execute challenging picks.

- Assess tree health and structure; set pruning cuts and removal strategies; communicate clearly with clients.

- Handle documentation, traffic control, and storm response as needed.

- Attend company training and access free, industry-related education and certifications.

What you bring

- 3 years of professional tree care with strong climbing and rigging proficiency.

- Proven leadership and clear communication; calm, safety-first judgment.

- Valid driver’s license (CDL helpful); physically fit for demanding outdoor work.

- Knowledge of tree biology, species ID, and structural assessment.

Bonus

- ISA Certified Arborist, CTSP, First Aid/CPR, and crane-assisted removal experience.

Pay: $32.00 - $41.00 per hour
