The Opportunity
As Chief Building Engineer, you’ll report directly to senior facilities leadership and act as a technical authority and team leader, ensuring all building systems operate at peak performance.
This is the ideal role for someone who is technically strong, leadership-ready, and looking to step up without moving away from hands-on engineering.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and support the HVAC function, bringing expert-level system knowledge
- Oversee and optimise BMS and VRF systems (Daikin experience a plus)
- Drive preventative maintenance programs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems
- Manage vendor relationships, including bids, proposals, and work orders
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain best-in-class property standards
- Respond to emergency and after-hours issues when required
- Use modern platforms to manage work orders and campus-wide projects

- Vocational, trade, or degree-level qualification in a relevant field
- Experience in commercial properties, ideally high-end environments (Class A offices, hotels, hospitals, etc.)
- A mid-career professional ready for progression—not entry-level, not fully senior
- Strong technical depth across building systems (more than generalist knowledge)
- A team-first mindset with the ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate
- Comfortable with technology and facilities management systems
- Flexible and dependable, with willingness to be on-call when needed
