We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Cheerleading and Dance Coach to lead and inspire our cheerleading and dance teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cheerleading and sports coaching, with the ability to educate and motivate students of varying skill levels. This role requires a commitment to fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship while ensuring a safe and positive environment for all participants.
Duties
- Lead practices and conditioning sessions for elementary and JV cheer and dance teams
- Teach proper cheer techniques, chants, stunting safety, and age-appropriate dance routines
- Prepare teams for athletic events, pep rallies, and special school performances
- Promote teamwork, school spirit, and Christian values through daily coaching
- Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and administrators
- Ensure all participants’ safety and uphold the school’s code of conduct
- Attend school events and games as scheduled
- Collaborate with parents and school officials to promote the cheerleading program and its activities
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety guidelines during practices and events
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cheerleading or sports coaching is preferred.
- Experience working with students or youth in an educational or athletic setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of gymnastics or martial arts techniques is a plus, as it can enhance training methods.
- Ability to climb and perform stunts safely while ensuring the well-being of all participants.
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate and motivate students.
- A positive attitude with a passion for teaching and developing young athletes in a supportive environment.
- Certification in lifeguarding or first aid/CPR is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Successful completion of a background check
