Sales and Customer Experience Associate

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and friendly and outgoing Cashier/Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while handling transactions efficiently. Your ability to engage with customers and promote products will be essential in creating a positive shopping experience. Flexibility is an important trait for potential candidates as you will be expected to perform in a wide variety of roles as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash registers and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with inquiries and educating about product selections.
• Handle cash transactions responsibly, ensuring accurate cash handling practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and sales floor, as well as extra inventory in the stockroom and refrigerated units.
• Utilize retail math skills to manage pricing, discounts, and promotions effectively.
• Upsell products when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
• Follow company policies regarding returns, exchanges, and customer complaints.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking consistently throughout the day.
• Actively work to gain knowledge and educate customers about our business regarding cooking recommendations, safe handling instructions, and differences between products.
• Taking orders over the phone in the same manner as in-store orders.

Skills

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
• Experience with cash register operations and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Ability to perform basic retail math calculations accurately.
• Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
• Knowledge of grocery store products and services is a plus.
• Proven ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
