Position: Prepared Foods Associate
At Joseph’s Classic Market, we’re more than a traditional supermarket—we’re an alternative to a restaurant. Our Prepared Foods Department is the centerpiece of our stores and sets us apart by offering Chef-Prepared, restaurant-quality meals. As a Prepared Foods Associate, you’ll help guests select items they’ll love while delivering high-quality customer service.
Routine Tasks:
- Provide excellent customer service by offering product knowledge, answering questions, and making personalized suggestions
- Maintain product freshness through regular rotation and quality checks
- Restock and rotate displays to ensure visual appeal and freshness
- Prepare salads and pack out soups, pastas, sauces, and other prepared foods
- Plate, package, and present items to meet Joseph’s quality and appearance standards
- Accurately package, label, and price self-service items
- Follow food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
- Operate basic counter equipment, including scales, knives, and other counter equipment
- Assist with other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math and reading skills
- Strong attention to detail and visual presentation
- Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
- A passion for serving people
A Prepared Foods Associate performs their tasks primarily in the Prepared Foods department. Work involves walking, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting products weighing up to 50 pounds. Work also includes frequent interaction with customers and fellow employees.
