Position: Grocery Associate
At Joseph’s Classic Market, our Grocery department is expected to be fully stocked, clean, and beautifully merchandised. Grocery Associates play a vital role in maintaining our reputation as the best gourmet grocer in town by ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for every customer.
Routine Tasks:
- Provide excellent customer service by offering product knowledge, answering questions, and making personalized suggestions
- Maintain product freshness through regular rotation and quality checks
- Restock, organize, and rotate dry, refrigerated, and frozen products to maintain visual appeal and availability
- Package, label, and price self-service items accurately
- Operate pallet jacks and carts to transport products from storage areas to the sales floor
- Assist with other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior grocery, retail, or food industry experience preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math and reading skills
- Strong attention to detail and visual presentation
- Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
- A passion for serving people
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Primary work is performed in the Grocery department
- Requires frequent walking and standing for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry products weighing up to 50 pounds
- Frequent interaction with customers and fellow employees
