As a Sprayer at Norlen, a Ryerson family of companies, you will be responsible for assisting the paint line operation by applying powder to parts in the paint booth.
- Efficiently and adequately apply powder paint to product by performing the following duties
- Effectively use equipment, systems and guns necessary for applying powder paint to customer product
- Follows quality requirements and notifies the supervisor or corrects all situations that may result in a nonconforming part
- Observes paint booth operation to detect defects or machine malfunction
- Is trained in the use of and is medically approved to use half face and air supplied respirators
- Reads and understands job order or product specifications
- Assists on the line as needed in plugging, masking, hanging and removing product
- Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Problem solving skills
- Has one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Able to operate forklift and overhead crane
- Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding
- Has the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Has the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Shift Hours: Monday through Thursday 5am to 3pm
