Position: Commissary - Meat Associate
Joseph’s Founder is a third-generation butcher, so you can imagine our Meat Department is a point of emphasis in our stores. Our Meat Associate is a key player in our success as they prepare the finest cuts of beef to our handmade sausages.
Routine Tasks:
- Maintain Joseph’s standards for product freshness and sanitation
- Cut, bone, or grind pieces of meat
- Weigh and wrap cuts of meat
- Package and label products
- Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature
- Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards
- Operate knives, grinder, scale, mixer, and other Meat equipment
- Assist with other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to read, write, and do simple math problems
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions
- Ability to work well with others
- Must be able to speak Spanish
- Meat cutting experience preferred
- A passion for serving people
Work Schedule:
This position requires schedule flexibility, including availability to work nights, weekends, overnights, and holidays, as production needs dictate.
A Meat Associate performs their tasks primarily in the Commissary department. Work involves walking, standing for prolonged periods, and lifting products weighing up to 80 pounds. Work is done inside a Meat preparation room and Meat refrigerated cooler, you will be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work also includes frequent interaction with fellow employees.
